A Drawing of My First Fishing Experience

The drawing pictured above shows my father and me, right after a fishing experience (my first time fishing actually!). Can you believe it, my first time fishing, and I caught a shark! and my dad caught a salmony sorta fish (with his bare hook no less!).

Although, I must admit, I'm a little embarrassed by this picture. I'm looking kinda fat. I remember, back then, all the little polar bear kids really gave me hell for my weight. They were terribly cruel. But I'm not fat nor a polar bear anymore. Cool.

What was your first fishing experience like? Did you catch a shark? swordfish? Moby Duck?

I love this picture. It is just awesome. I applaud it.

I still wish I could draw.

Nice pic ! ;-)

You wouldn't want to know about my first and only fishing experience.

....

Ok, you do.

Basically, I was so bored I ate all the snacks I brought and asked to go home. I now buy fish from the supermarket.

That skull you're holding should be on cute overload, it's that cute! There's nothing in the story about how you came to be holding it, though. Maybe I shouldn't ask too many questions, or my skull will suffer.

I never caught anything exotic.. but the one and only time I did fish.. it wasn't far from here.. and I caught a butt-ugly Catfish.. I couldn't bring myself to kill it.. I knew I would never eat fish agin if I had.. Great drawing...

You draw such great pictures, Sebastien, it's very inspirational. Thank you!

Okay...my first fishing experience that I remember is going with my parents and brothers to a little fishing spot when I was younger. I was just watching everyone else fish, when my youngest brother said, "Here, Tara, hold my fishing pole while I go get a snack." Well only a few moments later while holding the fishing pole, there was a big tug on it and my parents helped me reel in this huge fish. I don't know what type it was, but it burned up my brother cuz he hadn't caught anything yet. Hehe.

so your dad got the small fish and you caught the big fish, interesting...
my first and pretty much last fishing memory is from Camp Here there and everywhere--trout. it was SO boring (I was 7 or 8).

I like fishing. I especially like it when other people do it and leave me alone to sunbathe on the boat.

My first fishing experience was with my dad...we didn't even make it to the lake, his VW Rabbit got stuck in the mud.

Sir Jorge: Thanks buddy!

Zhu: Hahaha, you crack me up. I haven't gone fishing often (twice in my life), but it's fun if you go with a fun person. (and actually, I've NEVER caught a fish!!!).

Mariana: Initially, I was going to explain the skull. But then, I decided it would be better if it was a 'mystery.' haha, you ask good questions!!!

Babybull: Catfish! Haha, now those are funny looking creatures... bottom feeders...

Tara: Tara, you're too kind! You draw awesome pictures too!!! Haha, love how you caught the big fish, you got the bragging rights!!!

Frenchy: Oh yeah, I remember that!!! Hahaha, did you catch a monster trout!?

Mist1: That sounds like the way to go. But while you're sleeping on the boat, don't people take the opportunity to push you off into the water?!

Silver: Haha, the fishing trip that never was...

hahaha yeah. it was so monstrous that I refused to eat it for fear that it would eat me instead.

Sebastien Millon said...

Hahaha, now that is funny, a great reason not to eat a fish!!!!

My, your dad has some cool tattoos!

The first time I went fishing, it was off the side of a pier at the beach. I caught a baby alligator... seriously.
My cousin hooked it's mama, but it broke his fishing rod in half and swam away. I threw the baby back too... but not before getting some cool pictures.

P.S.- I love the matching sailor suits!

i don't remember exactly how it went, but i caught a baby walleye that my mom mounted and i squat-peed over the side of the boat. boys have it so much easier sometimes.

Hey, how are you today, little fisherman ?

First time I fished: I threw my pole in and watched it do nothing for like thirty minutes and got really bored. I went and swam with my friends for a while and left the pole on the dock with the line still in the water. So I come back like two hours later and I see my pole is like moving and I'm like "holy shit!!!" So I run over and grab the pole before it slides into the water and pull up this fat ass Oklahoma Catfish. I was so proud I thought I was the next Jimmy Houston.

I decided to keep the fish so I took it home alive in a cooler and put it in one of those baby pools and fed it corn flakes and stuff. I thought I'd keep it as a pet. Needless to say it died after about two days.

Funny thing is I've fished probably thirty times since then and have never caught a thing! I think that fish put a hex on me. Haha! good times.

I got a fish HOOK stuck in my foot on my first fishing experience. And although I couldn't dance I STILL went to ballet and watched class with the damn thing IN my foot.

First time I went fishing I caught a can of tuna from the kitchen cubboard - highly recommended. Minimum effort - maximum success. FAZ

Moonbeam baby: We love sailor suits in my family, haha! OMG, a baby alligator, for real!!!?? Now that, is a cool story!

Hedy de Vine: Haha, well, at least you didn't get attacked by an alligator...

Zhu: Doing ok, thanks! How're you doin, why, I'm goin to swing on over to your blog and see :)

Chris: GREAT story! Haha, corn flakes for fish... that's what I fed a squirrel my dog caught back when I was a little kid...

Pat: Totally counts! Squirrels are very sneaky, watch out, they also steal cigarettes...

L: Thanks L!

Desiree: Hi Desiree! Uh, that would not be fun, I've always been scared of getting a fish hook in my skin... you are a trooper though, going to ballet class, that's dedication!

Faz: See, you are smart. I like that.

Wat: Haha, I got some scarier ones coming up, muhahahahahha!!!

I don't have any fishing skill... the first time a went to a kind of fishing party with my husband and a couple of friend, all I got was as slap from the fish still hanging from the hook... luckily, it hit my back... the second time, with a bunch of girl from work, fishing on ice... that was fun, but I caught any fish again... I was quite impress to have to tease them with piece of chicken liver... How gross!!!

Searabbit: Haha... fishing is tricky, no? I've never caught anything, it almost seems like magic to me, and impossible...

Leiselb: I'm so glad it made you laugh! Hehe, the skull, yes, what a morbid little polar bear...

Great pic!

My first fishing experience was sort of traumatic. I caught a small fish and I was so proud of it and I went to get my parents so they could see the wee little thing I caught and when I came back my brother had cut it up to use as bait. I haven't been fishing since.

Sebastien Millon said...

Haha, that's a let down... and you didn't even get a chance to photograph the fishy you caught???!

STAK said...

Sebastien Millon said...

You are too kind, seriously!!!! Did you still want me to make you a drawing for your band??? I got a bunch of ideas, unfortunately my ability to draw is very sporadic cuz of the health, but it's better than before at least!!!

STAK said...

Sebastien, if you don't mind, I'll send a link to your blog to my brother in Russia, I am sure he'd love to see your artwork, he does some drawings along the same lines, amusing and ironic.

That's wonderful! Is there any way for me to see your brother's work on the internet?
