New Drawing. Music Stuff. Deadliest Catch.

Newer version of the drawing (I simplified things just a little bit)...

Older version...

This is another drawing based on one of my childhood memories. In the drawing, I'm the kid wearing the weird, bear-hoodie thingy (it was in style in those days, in fact, I think it still is).

So, sometimes I'd get together with my buddies, and we'd venture out into the nearby desert. Every once in a while we'd manage to catch eyeball snakes. It was pretty cool. The blind-looking mini-polar bear wearing the red glasses, his name was Baxter, he was especially fascinated with the eyeball snakes. Unfortunately, he got eaten by an eyeball snake on one of our trips. That was kind of a let down.

I could easily write more about my childhood, but I'd like to write about some other topics.

Music Stuff
I have a couple music things I'd like to mention. One of my friends is a great composer. He crafts wonderful amazing songs, and he records everything on his own which I think is super cool. If you get a chance, please check his songs out. Here is a link to his work. I'm sure you will enjoy his music, it's amazing!

I also have another friend (who'dda thunkit!), his name is Dawen Wang, and he is trying to win a music competition. He is a GREAT singer, and he needs votes. So if you can, go to this site and listen to his song and vote for him! If he gets enough votes he will get his song played on the radio! And that will be a huge step for him in his quest to conquer the world.

TV Stuff
In other news, I started watching this show on tv, it's called the Deadliest Catch. It's quite a great show, all about people who go fishing in the Bering Sea. The footage is very impressive... fishing in those waters near Alaska seems like a very dangerous business. Although, I haven't seen any sharks so far, which means the fishing can't be all that dangerous. And now that I think about it, I haven't even seen any crocodiles, nor any barracudas. Nor the most dangerous of all the sea creatures, a creature named Shamu, better known as the killer whale that always has first degree murder on its mind. And I haven't even seen a measly electric eel on this show. I guess this program isn't as scary as I initially thought. Doesn't quite live up to the title. These fisherman mostly spend their time catching crab, and I gotta say, I stopped being scared of that creature when I turned 19, so the fear factor just isn't there for me. Well, I guess if I try hard enough I can be scared of a crab.

In spite of the lack of sharks, crocodiles, and other such dangerous creatures, the Deadliest Catch is good, I recommend watching it. So, if you are ever bored and want to watch people fishing on tv in your spare time, this show is for you. It's on the Discovery Channel.

Sir Jorge: I'll dig around my closet and find you that hoodie :)! I scared all the neighborhood kids with it...

Jos: Thanks! I loved my childhood! Good times...

nice drawing. though, you know me--I like bright colors! the bear costume though is hilarious.

Sebastien Millon said...

I'm going to get you that bear costume. You will be the bear ninja.

Hey! who is that cute little fella inside that bear zip!? :))

Ah! Now I see where all those snakes come from..The desert!!

& those scorpions too!

When I was getting my house constructed, I saw a bunch of scorpions. They were cute!

& next time please include Chammakchallo in your art. You have forgotten your latest pet so soon?

Mona said...

what are you saying buddy! you are trying to be afraid of CRABS!!!

LOL!LOL!! tell that to Dan! & Topcat & Terry & Cathy & Tina...& they will come running after you!

Then I think you can be easily made to learn that way.."how to be afraid of Crabs".

Mona said...

PS> why has that big white doggy ripped his heart apart???

Reminds me of one of my poems...

Sebastien Millon said...

Mona: That was me! In the bear zip, my favorite costume... The desert is full of interesting wildlife, I haven't even drawn a gila monster and I still need to draw a desert centipede, those things are super scary! Haha, scorpions are kinda scary, but I'm more used to them now, I used to run away screaming my head off when I saw one, now they are my friends and I'm not as scared. I still hope they don't sting me.

Oh yeah, about the crabs, if I want to enjoy this show to the max, I must cultivate a fear of crabs. If I don't, the show won't live up to its billing, Deadliest Catch. And that would be a tragedy. I'm forcing myself to believe that crabs are scary and deadly. Fortunately, I'm succeeding.

The doggy, hmmm, I don't know why he has his heart in his hand, I think he is practicing to become a heart surgeon.

I guess the deadliest catch for a prostitute is crabs, too!

If possible, you should dress up in a bear outfit for Halloween just to reconnect with your childhood memories. Looks like you could wear a grey hoodie and just attach some foam teeth to it, and some ears. Oh and then you'd have to wrangle an eyeball snake.

"Deadliest Catch" is a good show...very exciting. Couldn't get me out on that boat, though. I'd much rather eat what they caught, though. :)

This is fantastic. Really great drawing! Do you frame these and put them up around your house or in your room? They would look really cool, especially with the right lighting. Can you make money and sell these suckers?

Look at dem scorpions. Purty freaky.

Sebastien Millon said...

Sonja: That is very very true. Hahaha, my my Sonja, you've been doing lots of sex jokes lately!

Tara: This sounds like a plan! I will also create a tail, I'd like to have a dinosaur tail, with scales and everything, I will sew that onto the back of my hoodie, it's going to be awesome. I will be half bear, half stegasaurus.

WAT: Thanks buddy! Ya know, this sorta work is so different from what I did before I got sick, and I haven't really tried to sell any of this stuff... I haven't been printing these, but I'd like to find some nice printing paper, and see if I could produce some quality prints. I'm really not familiar with printing artwork through the computer though, so that's something I need to figure out. Once I'm a bit better, and have more energy, I will try and see if I can sell, but for now, I still don't have much energy, so when I do have energy, I try and work on creating, which isn't as often as I'd like, but it's so wonderful getting to create, even if it is for just a little while. I'm also thinking that when I'm better, I'd like to make massive paintings of some of these characters. Would be fun.

I love that drawing because you all look so happy in it! Good times.
Did you see that Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs is going to host After the Catch? The sea captains will sit down in a bar and talk about all their adventures!

do eyeball snakes eat you by staring really hard?

People in the Sun said...

I also had a bear-hoodie-thing as a kid (only mine wasn't made of real dead bears. I've lived a sheltered life).

Sebastien Millon said...

LB: Such happiness, ah, happy memories :) I think I heard about that, After the CAtch, sounded very interesting, those people on the show live very adventurous lives, love to hear them talk about it.

Fringes: Hehe, thanks Fringes. Can I call you Pieceofpaper now?

Babybull: Mr. Giggles would look wonderful in a bear hoodie (actually he always looks awesome, but he could go around the neighborhood and scare all the kids, it'd be such fun!).

Taarzaan: Yes! One must never stare too long into the eye of an eyeball snake. Very very dangerous. Only handle an eyeball snake if you know what you are doing, or you will end up like Baxter. Dead.

People In the Sun: I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how traumatizing it was to live such a sheltered life. Do you wear the real-deal bear hoodie nowadays?

I used to watch the Deadliest Catch last year, I just loved it. Just thinking of this boat, lost somewhere in Alaska... Weird !

You were a cute kid according to the drawning, a bit Eminem like, but cute. But what's with the one-eyed dog ?

Anonymous said...

Excuse me,but I fell into your blog and now I think I may be stuck! This is so funny!

BTW The little dog on your head--Is his name LLoyd Dobler?

Josh said...

Eyeball snakes, now there's a scary proposition...

I listened to both music suggestions and was very impressed. You have very talented friends!

Fabulous drawings Sebastien! Your work is amazing, so colourful and expressive!

Deadliest catch is a good show, your pictures are great but exhibit what might be termed a somewhat troubled mind...maybe it was the losing Baxter that has left the mental scars!!

Sebastien Millon said...

Zhu: That show really is amazing, unbelievable, such an adventure, but I would be most worried about rolling over and sinking into the freezing waters... ah yes, the one-eyed dog, no one knows what happened, he just showed up one day :)

Metalmom: Hello! Thanks for stopping by! Hahaha, that's so funny, I never thought of Lloyd Dobler when I did this, but now that you mention, it totally makes sense!!! The little dog will be known as Lloyd...

Josh: Yes, one must be careful handling them... thanks so much for checking out the music, I'm so happy you enjoyed the work!!!

Mona: I know, doggy with heart in hand is gone... It's just that we got in a bit of a fight yesterday so I decided to erase him from all my pictures. Not very nice of me...

Katie: Thank you, are there eyeball snakes where you live?!

Tom: Hehe, troubled mind?! You may be right, you may be right... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Baxter!!!! How I miss you...

Mona said...

Sebastien!!! you know it is not good to fight a doggy who has already has his heart in one hand for you!
Why sebastien why???

Sniff sniff! WAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
I want my doggie back!& I am missing my chammakchallo!

Sebastien Millon said...

Yes, the dog is very sneaky and smart, and he has no heart hence he has no problems being evil to me.

Ahhh, Chammakchallo, I haven't seen her. Where did she go. There is a king snake out there, I hope he didn't eat her.

Nikki Neurotic said...

You're like the second or third person who's mentioned this show. I've never bothered to watch it but now I'm slightly more interested.

Gary said...

I listened to your friend Dawen Wang's song and really liked his voice - I voted for him. Nice having a friend like you on his side.

Mona said...

SEBASTIEN!!!! How can you say that??? HE HAS A HEART & HE SHOWED IT TO YOU!!!!!

SEBSATIEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't say that about Chammakchallo!
[tear falls]

Sebastien Millon said...

Silver: I know you are crazy busy, but hopefully one of these days you will be able to check the show out, it's really quite fascinating!

Gary: Thanks so much Gary!!! I really appreciate that, hopefully Dawen gets on the radio! Woohoo!

Mona: This is so true. I feel terrible now. I'm going to apologize to him. I'm going to buy him a bigger better heart though, I will buy him the Ferrari of hearts. I'm sure he will be pleased with me! Oh, don't worry about Chammakchallo, she is wily, I'm sure she evaded the snake!

Pod said...

ah, so perhaps there is a little softie lurking beneath that evil looking exterior? i have been fooled all this time......

Sebastien Millon said...

Hey Sebastian:

Your blog rocks! I wanted to tell you that I won that contest! I am among 3 bands that will get to perform around town! So thank you again for all the support and for putting a link up on your blog. They're playing my music on 93FM this Saturday at 8PM and I owe the airplay in part to you, my friend.

Be well,

Dawen

By the way, it's awesome to see your art work on here. You've become so computer savvy.

Sebastien Millon said...

Pod: Haha, I guess I'm not good at faking evilness!

Leiselb: Awww, thank you Leisel!!

Desiree: Why thank you!

Dawen: Hey buddy! Thanks for stopping in! I gotta say, I'm so proud of you! Keep up the wonderful work, this is your first step towards world domination!

i love these drawings, some of my favorites. and no blood in these either? hmmm...are you having a regression or progression? or simply a diversion?

Sebastien Millon said...

Hahaha, thank you! Great question, I have no clue if I'm progressing or regressing. All I know is that I'm becoming a more evil and terrible person as time progresses, and that's what truly counts!

Becky said...

hmmm...took me a while to get back here to check comments, but glad i did. a strange evaluation and observation of your state of being. i can hardly believe that's true. i shall pray for you ;-)

Sebastien Millon said...

Yay! Prayers are always appreciated :)
