French Lesson. Doctor's Appointment. Cartoon.

So, I'm helping a friend of a friend learn French. Today was the first 'lesson.' We're doing this at my house, which is the only way I can do something like this. The lesson went really well, and this guy I'm helping seems like he's going to learn very fast. He's a musician, so he probably has a very good ear, he seems to have a knack for the pronunciation and all that. Plus we get along really well, so I think it's going to be low stress and fun. I hope my health allows me to have enough energy to follow through with these lessons, we're planning on doing them once a week. It's so great to help someone learn, it's a really nice feeling!

I also had a doctor's appointment today, so I'm pretty tired right now. My doctor is sure I'm going to recover, he just doesn't know when, but he ordered up some more blood tests. He says everything has been moving in the right direction, both my symptoms and the blood work, so that's cool. I guess now that I've been having a lot less pain, well, the main thing that's frustrating are the days where I don't have enough energy to occupy myself. But, you know, that's the way it is, I just gotta rest my body on those days and take what it gives me. Plus I'm developing an opium addiction, which is awesome to say the least. I told my doctor about it and he was so enthusiastic, he said he gets high as a kite right before work, we had a good laugh about that! Anyways, it's really nice getting encouragement from the medical establishment.

Oh...

I just discovered this cartoon. Freakin' hilarious.

I know it's soooo difficult to be patient when it comes to recovery, but you have the right attitude. I try to remind myself that one day my life may be so busy that I could look back on these idle days with a kind of envy.

I'm glad your doctor shares your affinity for opium, it's always nice to find common ground with the MD's.

Hey, best of luck with keeping up with the French lessons! It's great that so far you can do that once a week! It'll probably help get your mind occupied so you can recover a little easier! Keep us posted on the doc visits! I'm glad he's giving you positive feedback!

(There I go with the exclamation points again..Hehe.)

Hmm french...such a difficult language to learn. In Canada, we're required to take french from grades 4 to 6. I even took it in grades 7, 10, and 11... And yet, I'm HORRIBLE at it! Bonjour. Au revoir. Ca va? Anyways, that's the extent of my French. Also, good luck with your recovery.

WAT: You are so talented! Thank you so much, I really appreciate the support and kind words, it's really helped me throughout the months. Your French is awesome by the way, do you read in French, I imagine it's hard to find the time, but if you do, and have any good recommendations, actually, same goes for Spanish books, please let me know.

Lauren: Yes! I try and think that too, I will look back on these days with a sort of envy! Haha, thanks for reminding me of that, it's a good thing to remember. Opium, it really brings people together...

Tara: Thanks! I think you are so right, being able to see someone, and work with them, I think it will do me a lot of good. I know how you feel about the exclamation points, I think I'm the king of exclamation whores!!!!

Sky: You know, that's very true. French is very tricky, although, I'm sure you're better at French than you are letting on!!!! And thanks for wishing me luck :), it's good to see you around!

:D You write these things just to see if we're paying attention, don't you? If not, who is your doctor, and how can I get an appointment. I'm glad he's so optimistic, I hope one day you'll be writing on your blog about all the stuff you're doing out of the house.
