Rugby

Rugby is a rough sport (and the sky is blue). Now, I know not everyone has a sick penchant for violence, but you know, boys being boys... most of us need a certain quota of bone-jarring NFL/NHL/Rugby sports action. It's inexplicable, but hey, we don't have to explain our terrificly twisted, brutally bloody, sublimely sordid hobbies!

(I wouldn't let this post fool you, I'm really not as macho and violent as I might be coming across. Maybe I'm trying to pull the wool over your eyes so you don't realize how sensitive and sweet I am, so you don't realize I'm a peace-loving beatnik...)

Anyways, I got rugby on my mind because we get this French tv channel here, and they showed highlights of the French rugby team getting trounced by the All Blacks, New Zealand's team. They also showed the All Blacks doing their chant, the Haka, totally amazing! Doesn't get any more macho than this...

All Blacks doing the Haka!

I love the Rugby...2 types "League" and "Union" slighly different rules...We have lots of Kiwi's in Oz especially on the gold coast as its only a $200 return flight I think.....I always joke that the Gold Coast has a NewZealand post code as well...the League tri nations are on at the moment Britain Aust NZ looks Great

Cool, so what do leagues do you follow?? Yeah, I haven't watched much rugby, I don't think we get any matches here. I see highlights from time to time. My dad was telling the World Cup is in France next year...

Starting next year the Gold coast Titans, a new team will enter the national comp....We have had some good signinings and hope to play in the finals first year!...
I am a convert to rugby..having grown up in the West(oz) where the main game is AFL football...you will have to google that...The AFL team I have followed for the last 5 years is the BRISBANE LIONS they won 3 flags in a row and then went to shit...

Nice... Yeah I've heard of the AFL. So in the eastern part of Australia you're more into League style rugby? Isn't that usually what they play in international games?

How good are the French supposed to be right now? They got whupped by the All Blacks, but they're still a pretty good team right?

I've learned that most guys don't like to be told they are sweet. You big, tough, macho, dude!
(PS. you're very sweet) Now go watch the movie "Fight Club" 10 times in a row to help get over my comment.

I love Rugby, not to play but only to watch. I don't want to get my bones broken! LOL

Lauren: That's great! Must've been fun growing up watching rugby, toughens you up I imagine, well, on the other hand, I'm not sure that watching anything on tv toughens you up... but that's besides the point!!!!

Shaymus: Well I've never really watched cricket and I don't think we get matches here. I had a bunch of Indian/Pakistani friends in college and they sure as hell talked about it a lot!

Babs: You are messing with my mind!!! I need to go watch Fight Club, then Rambo, a couple of the Terminators, some good car chase movies, a couple revenge movies, something like Deathwish... and then hopefully I'll have your comment washed out of my system!

Bioguy: Right you are! I played for just a little while, but it's so easy to get hurt. I messed up my shoulder!

Rugby is pretty fun to watch, but I am a soccer guy for life.

El futbol!!! I love soccer, I watched so many World Cup matches this summer (I have my illness to thank for that!). I wish France had one, sooooooooo close, Zidane's header, inches off...

I love those guys! It always makes me wonder what psychological effect that dance has on their oponents... Do they get really scared, or do they just find them ridiculous? Anyway, it's always great to watch, even if you're not a rugby fan!

Hahaha, their opponents look scared shitless!!! I love it!!!

"And the sky is blue" is a piece of comic genius. You come up with that? ;)

Yeah, I scratched my head for a couple hours, chewed up a couple pencils, but I finally came up with that line!!!
