6 Weird Things About Me

I got tagged by Silverneurotic, so I will give you a list of terrible evil things about me.

1. I hate phones. I hate them with a passion. I love getting to talk to people through them, but I feel like they are always causing me problems, disconnecting on me. Plus cellphones are so invasive, you can always be reached (which is both good and bad)... As you can guess I'm not always great with answering my phone. Plus I forgot to turn my phone off last night and it just so happened someone called me at 4 in the morning.

2. I am insanely afraid of sharks, and hence the ocean. You probably already knew that. I'm so afraid, I haven't washed my hands in ages, taken a shower in years (for fear that sharks will materialize out of the faucets, hell, even the drains! The only water I drink is bottled, because I can be certain there are no sharks in it! Of course I don't go swimming in pools, you know that drain in the deep end...well it's directly linked to the ocean, so there is a chance that great white sharks will show up in your pool and come after you). My motto: 'You can never be too careful.' I forgot to tell you I live in a bubble and I'm good at trivial pursuit.

3. I don't eat any candy, sodas, muffins, donuts, any of that sort of junk food. I do love chocolate though.

4. I lived in Japan for 3 years.

5. My favorite invention is the bicycle. Haha, kind of weird to love the bicycle, but it's just so simple and efficient, I love those qualities.

6. I now believe in things I don't see (I guess it's kind of like I believe in magic and spirits, I won't get into the details, they will frighten you! Well, let me tell you about all the monsters I see...wait a sec, I'm not sure if they are drug induced hallucinations or reality). I think being sick by this tiny infintesimal virus showed me there are so many things that we don't see, yet these invisible things can affect our lives in such powerful ways. One basic example other than viruses and illnesses, an example that affects absolutely everyone: Gravity, you don't see it, but it always has a hand in every second of your life. Well, going along those lines, I think there must be other forces and things we don't see (that includes a spiritual realm, religion, any of that stuff, I won't get specific about all that, I don't want you to find out I'm a hardcore Christian conservative who enjoys, delights in, marvels, cries with joy, laughs demonically at the fact that everyone is doomed to eternal hell, while I, because I am so righteously awesome, am promised eternal happiness in a most heavenly place, uh, that would be heaven I guess!). Sorry, sometimes I just ramble...

Now I must tag six people:
WAT
Manuel
Sonja
Lauren M.
Babs
Helen

Anyone else I didn't tag who wants to do the MeMe should most definitely do it.

I'm not worried, I know as long as I'm your friend you'll put in a good word for me, even though I'm a heathen. Besides, I'm so cute and cuddly.

Jealous of #4, question on #3: do you not eat candy and drink sodas because of your illness or are you just that sensible?

Guess I'm jealous of #4, too. ;)

Mariana: I promise, but only for you! No other exceptions, y'all hear that!

Nicole: Haha, well I stopped eating and drinking the bad stuff long ago because I'm super health conscious (like really really, I'm like the food Nazi). But I try and keep eating really healthy while I'm sick, it's one of the few things I can control that can actually make a positive difference in my illness.

Mrmanuel: Better get cracking!

Shaymus: It was really hard narrowing it down. I didn't include the fact that I worked in a circus for a couple years, I got to work with bears and piranhas, it was really cool.

Good for me: I LOVE BIKES! My favorite are road bikes, and you can go really really fast, plus I think they look cool! You do a lot of biking? Yeah it's weird with the virus, it affects some differently than others, most it does almost nothing. Thanks for the kind words, but you know, I'm getting better, I appreciate so many more things in life, I'm thankful to be alive, and although it's been so hard, and continues to be a struggle, it made me realize life is a gift. Sorry if I'm being dramatic!

Rock on, bro. Us chronic people know all about #6. It's one of the things that we can learn from illness if we will only listen.
See my blog tomorrow for MY weirdnesses...

You lived in Japan for three years? How awesome is that!

Where did you live? How old were you? Domo arigato Mister Roboto?

Sonja: Can't wait for your weirdnesses Sonja! Yeah, #6 is very true for me, I thought you'd understand!

WAT: Sharks are way cool, I just love being scared of them!

Lauren: I was really young actually, 10-13 years old. We lived in Kobe, Japan, we lived through the earthquake in '95 and moved back to the US. It was a crazy time, I biked with my dad to his office that day of the earthquake, it was the most terrible scene I've ever seen, not the destruction, but the collective sadness and grief, all these people out in the streets crying, crying because they lost people they loved.

Maybe that's what I'll get you for the holidays--a huge tub of chocolate! hmmmm....

Miam miam, I love chocolate!

chocolate is its own food group as far as i'm concerned. i even have a wooden plaque in my kitchen that reads, "when in doubt, eat chocolate." enough said:)

bikes, yeah, i'm into them. did a lot of touring as a teen -- 14-21 day trips around the northeast and canada. i moved away from road bikes to mountain in college, but didn't enjoy nearly as much. and now i'm back in the market for a new road bike...not touring this time. there's really nothing like clearing your head on the open road - just you and your bike.

Sebastien Millon said...

Haha, love that motto!

That sounds like it must've been great, the bike trips, that's stuff I'd love to do around Arizona and California... Oh I hear you on that clearing your head, nothing, nothing nothing like it! I used to live in Chicago, biking along the lakefront, or even on city streets, flowing with the traffic... LOVE IT!!!

Your rides on the lakefront sound wonderful. I'm sure you'll find yourself doing the same in Az and Ca someday. I know it.

Thank you so much for that! It's been one of the things I try and visualize myself doing, it is just so uplifting imagining myself going places on a bike.
